Location: Ketchikan, Alaska
Season: April 15th - September 25th, 2025

We’re seeking 2-3 versatile individuals to rotate through three exciting roles: Deckhand-Narrator, Driver-Tour Guide, and Booth/Sales Representative.

Positions OverviewDeckhand Responsibilities
- Narrate detailed knowledge of Ketchikan’s history, wildlife, and attractions (training/information sheet provided).
- Safely assist with docking the vessel.
- Offer beverage/snack service and maintain supply inventory.
- Clean and sanitize passenger areas, including restrooms, between tours.
- Conduct passenger headcounts and ensure manifests are accurate.
Requirements:
- Must pass a pre-employment drug test (UA) as required by the U.S. Coast Guard and comply with random drug testing throughout the season.
- Physical fitness to bend, crouch, kneel, and stand for long periods.
- Ability to work under pressure and in varying weather conditions.
- First Aid/CPR certification (can be obtained within the first week of employment).
Driver-Tour Guide Responsibilities
- Safely operate a 14-passenger van and navigate tight spaces.
- Provide engaging narrations at tour stops, sharing insights on Ketchikan, local wildlife, and history (training provided).
- Maintain vehicle logs, fuel receipts, and passenger manifests.
- Keep the van clean and ensure nothing is left behind after tours.
Requirements:
- Must be 23 years old.
- Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
- First Aid/CPR certification (can be obtained within the first week of employment).
- Comfortable walking, standing, and speaking for extended periods.
Booth/Sales Representative Responsibilities
- Open and close the booth daily.
- Greet and check in pre-booked clients, providing tour instructions.
- Manage cash and credit card transactions.
- Maintain and update passenger manifests.
- Dispatch van tours, ensuring team members have accurate information.
Requirements:
- Strong multitasking and communication skills.
- Attention to detail and proficiency with computers.
- Experience with sales platforms like Square or Fareharbor (preferred).
- Ability to work in varying weather conditions (booth is covered).
