We are seeking a Manufacturing Cost Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in developing and managing standard production cost data.. The primary focus of the Cost Accountant will be to track, analyze and report on production costs, optimize our cost accounting processes, ensure accurate inventory valuation and provide insightful analysis to support strategic decision-making. The ideal candidate will work closely with production, finance, and supply chain teams to ensure financial accuracy and operational efficiency.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop, maintain, and analyze standard manufacturing cost .
- Monitor and report on production costs, including raw materials, labor, and overhead.
- Identify cost variances and investigate discrepancies to recommend corrective actions.
- Prepare cost projections and scenario analysis to support pricing and budgeting decisions.
- Oversee inventory accounting, including the valuation of raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods.
- Collaborate with the supply chain team to optimize inventory levels and reduce carrying costs.
- Prepare detailed reports on manufacturing performance, cost trends, and variance analyses.
- Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts for the manufacturing division.
- Support month-end and year-end closing processes by ensuring cost data accuracy.
- Partner with production and engineering teams to identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Develop and implement process improvements to enhance cost tracking and reporting.
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations, company policies, and accounting standards
- Develop metrics and tracking system for major cost drivers in a manufacturing environment.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 3–4 years of experience in cost accounting within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of cost accounting principles and manufacturing processes.
- Analytical mindset with excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration across teams.
- Prepare and analyze cost reports to identify trends and variances.
- Support management in developing cost control measures and improving financial processes.
