Position Details:
Title: Head Cheer Coach for 2025-2026 School Year
Placement (location): Eagle Point High School
Supervisor: Athletic Director/other designee
Contract Amount: $7,960 Stipend for 2025-2026
General Expectations:
Eagle Point High School is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Head Cheer Coach to lead our high school cheerleading program. The ideal candidate will be passionate about cheerleading, committed to fostering a positive team culture, and dedicated to the personal and athletic development of student-athletes. This position requires strong leadership, organization, and communication skills, as well as the ability to collaborate with school administrators, parents, and the athletic department.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, organize, and lead all aspects of the high school cheer program, including tryouts, practices, performances, and competitions.
- Develop and implement training programs focused on skill development, safety, and teamwork.
- Foster a positive and supportive environment for all team members.
- Ensure compliance with all school district, state, and national cheerleading rules and regulations.
- Coordinate and supervise game-day performances, pep rallies, and community events.
- Collaborate with athletic directors, and school administrators to support the program’s success.
- Maintain responsibility for team fundraising, budgeting, and uniform/equipment management.
- Serve as a mentor and role model to student-athletes, promoting academic success and personal growth.
- Implement and enforce safety protocols, including proper stunt progression and injury prevention practices.
Qualifications/Requirements and/or ability to obtain:
- NFHS Certification
- Completion of all OSAA Certifications
- Completion of ODE Steroid Test
- Completion of Safe Schools training
- CPR and First Aid certification
- Ability to pass a background check
- Prior coaching or cheerleading experience (high school, college, or competitive level)
- Strong knowledge of cheer techniques, stunting, tumbling, and game-day performance traditions
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills
