Position Details:

Title: Special Education Teacher- Practical and Academic Life Skills (PALS) Temporary for Remainder of 2024-2025 School Year
Location: White Mountain Middle School
Supervisor: Principal or designee
Contract Days:  194 days/yr **prorated by start date
Salary Range: No less than $45,635 - $89,065 plus master's stipend (depending upon approved previous experience and graduate level credits). Special Education Teachers receive a Federal Compliance Stipend of $3,000 each year
Position Closing Date: Open until filled with screening to begin as soon as possible
 

Description:

This position requires an Oregon Special Education Generalist license or equivalent, or the ability to obtain same license prior to the start date.  The Practical and Academic Life Skills (PALS) classroom is designed to support students with significant intellectual and communication disabilities.  The program maintains a high staff to student ratio.  The instructional practices used in the PALS program focus on visual supports, structured teaching, and functional routines.  Applicants who are bilingual in Spanish are encouraged to apply.
 

General Expectations:

The ideal applicant will have demonstrated skills in specifically designed instruction in reading, math, behavior and social skills and life skills for special education students. A desire to collaborate with other educators and agencies, as well as the ability to maintain and adapt existing curricula to meet the ever changing needs of our students is required. The ideal candidate will be comfortable using a variety of pedagogical and assessment tools, have a passion for educating ALL STUDENTS, and a willingness to be involved in the school community beyond the classroom setting.
