Plant Custodian Job Description
Position Title: Plant Custodian (Outdoor Yard Maintenance)
Position Summary:
Plant Custodians are responsible for maintaining a clean and healthy facility by completing various tasks.
Tasks:
- Perform comprehensive yard maintenance, including mowing, edging, trimming, and weeding, to maintain a professional and safe outdoor environment.
- Execute efficient and timely trash and debris removal from all outdoor areas, including parking lots, walkways, and designated disposal zones.
- Maintain and organize outdoor storage areas, ensuring a clutter-free and safe environment.
- Perform seasonal tasks such as snow and ice removal, ensuring safe access for employees and visitors.
- Maintain and monitor the functionality of outdoor fixtures and features.
- Replace air filters and maintain HVAC systems
- Collect and dispose of waste materials from designated areas, adhering to all safety and environmental regulations.
- Operate and maintain waste compactors and dumpsters, ensuring proper waste disposal procedures.
- Separate and manage recyclable materials, contributing to our company's sustainability efforts.
- May assist or perform snow/debris removal activities and minor maintenance, such as replacing light bulbs, adjusting furniture, or other similar activities.
- Perform routine maintenance of the facility's outdoor areas, ensuring a clean and well-maintained appearance through yard work and general cleanup activities.
- Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Skills:
- Able to stand for long periods of time with limited breaks.
- Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds and team lift up to 150 pounds.
- Work in extreme temperatures and elements for an extended period of time.
- Must be able to work in confined spaces.
- Must be able to work at elevated heights.
- Must be able to read and comprehend basic drawings and scope of work.
- Must possess basic math skills, addition, subtraction
- Dependable and Teachable
Experience and Education:
- High school education or general education diploma (GED or High School Equivalence Certificate).
- At least 2 years of verifiable work experience.
