What are the responsibilities and job description for the Fixed Equipment Maintenance Technician position at Eagle Railcar?
The Fixed Equipment Maintenance Technician is responsible for the repair of plant equipment. This individual will ensure that all mechanisms are operating properly and meet safety requirements. The Maintenance Technician will research any major repair issues and report them to the Maintenance Foreman. Additionally, the Technician will ensure all deadlines are met and compliance regulations are fulfilled
Tasks:
- Will disassemble and troubleshoot any equipment when there is a problem that is hindering factory production.
- Complete maintenance repair on plant equipment to include blast booths, compressors, blast motors and drives.
- During the disassembly, you may need to lubricate and change oil in equipment.
- Check the performance of the different pieces of machinery, ensuring that they run correctly and that they are not hindering the operations of the plant.
- Maintain detailed maintenance records as well as review and follow-up equipment has returned to operation.
- In charge of everyday maintenance work around the facility.
Skills:
- Basic knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures to equipment repair.
- Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical repair, maintenance, repairs on hydraulic systems, various maintenance related testers and gauges, and repairs on gas and diesel engines.
- Able to stand for long periods of time with limited breaks.
- Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds and team lift up to 150 pounds.
- Work in extreme temperatures and elements for an extended period of time.
- Must be able to work in confined spaces.
- Must be able to work at elevated heights.
- Must be able to read and comprehend basic drawings and scope of work.
- Must possess basic math skills, addition, subtraction.

Experience and Education:
· High School Diploma (or GED or High School Equivalence Certificate)
· Previous Industrial Maintenance experience (preferred).
