What are the responsibilities and job description for the Samples Helper position at Eagle Roofing Products?
- Responsible for pulling (with forklift and/or by hand) the proper tile and creating quality tile samples. Will operate the tile saw and must ensure clean cutting of tile samples with proper color variations. Must properly and legibly label samples.
- Read board of posted tasks assigned to yard when first arrive
- Find sample of assigned tile number in tote room for comparison
- Pull quality tiles from yard as requested that match the sample
- Keep pallets, totes, tile neatly stacked
- Will clean work area of any debris, trash, broken tile etc. as needed/requested
- Ensure tile matches information card/request
- Full size samples will be packaged and shipped when requested
- Complete additional packaging as verbally requested throughout shift
- Clearly, legibly, and accurately mark tiles
- May need to assist other team members with proper tile identification
- Physical Requirements -
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 55 lbs -
- Will be required to lift, carry and stack tiles (11 lbs each) -
- Will be on feet throughout entire work time -
- Must be able to identify and distinguish slight color variations in tiles -
- Must be capable of perceiving and understanding, above ambient noise and light levels, the forklift horns/ reverse alarms.
- Work Environment -
- Outdoors and exposed to all weather conditions -
- Exposed to loud machinery (tile saws) and dusty conditions -
- Plant traffic (cars, trucks, golf carts, forklifts, semi-trucks, etc.)
