Job Summary:
The Internal Credentialing Coordinator is responsible for managing, maintaining, and ensuring the accuracy and completeness of credentialing and privileging records for contracted providers within the organization. This position coordinates internal credentialing processes, monitors expirable documents, and collaborates with Recruitment and Operations to ensure timely completion of credentialing requirements.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Coordinate initial, recredentialing, and add-on applications for providers requiring internal credentialing.
- Maintain internal credentialing database and provider files, ensuring accuracy and up-to-date information.
- Verify credentials with primary sources and document findings in accordance with organizational policies and regulatory standards.
- Facilitate communication between providers, recruitment, and operational teams regarding credentialing status and outstanding requirements.
- Prepare and distribute credentialing status reports to leadership and operations as requested.
- Maintain awareness of applicable regulatory, accrediting, and hospital-specific standards.
- Assist in preparing for audits and surveys by regulatory and accrediting agencies.
- Biweekly to weekly follow-up on applications
- Prepare and send notification letters to providers after Eagle board approval monthly
- Uphold confidentiality of sensitive provider and organizational information at all times.

Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s preferred.
- 2 years of credentialing, medical staff office, or healthcare administration experience.
- CPCS (Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist) Certification preferred.
- Experience with central verification systems and processes preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
