At Eagle Transport Corporation, we are continuing to grow our team in the Southeast and are currently seeking a Terminal Manager for our Houston, Texas, location.
Working with the Vice President of Operations, and Regional and District Managers, the Terminal Manager supervises the day-to-day operations of the assigned terminal within the framework of the company’s operating policies and procedures and in support of Eagle’s Corporate Values. These duties include general supervision of operations, maintenance, safety, personnel, sales, accounting, and purchasing.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Responsible for all company terminal property, including equipment, ensuring all is appropriately used and maintained.
- Manage team member hiring, performance, training, and development.
- Direct the company’s safety program, including facilitation of monthly safety meetings.
- Maintain the highest level of customer service and customer relations. Includes building relationships with all internal and external customers and local loading facilities.
- Supervise the company’s preventative maintenance program. The management of EMS is an imperative function of this position.
- Continuously evaluate every aspect of the terminal operation and establish short and long-range goals to support continuous improvement of operational efficiencies.
- Communicate professionally with terminal employees, customers, company management, and any other persons who may have business with the company, maintaining an open-door policy.
- Exhibit proper consideration and concern to and for all terminal employees, with all employee ideas, comments, and suggestions welcomed.
- Communicate and implement the decisions, policies, procedures, and directives of Eagle Transport.
- Contact the traffic department on all rate and route requests.
- Coordinate customer requests and calls with the marketing department.
- Assure that: Repair orders and purchase requisitions are complete and mailed to the corporate office as needed. All drivers’ service hours are accounted for and managed appropriately, avoiding any hours-of-service violations. Payroll is completed and processed in a timely manner. All delivery tickets are complete, checked, scanned, and uploaded daily.
