ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.
- Establish a campus Volunteer Committee that continually generates projects that the Volunteer Engagement Coordinator recruits volunteers to complete. Organize who will join you to work with the group or individuals to make the experience effective, productive and positive.
- Promote the volunteer project with a projected timeframe needed through our marketing coordinator, the volunteer email list and call churches, community organizations, businesses and those on the volunteers list to recruit help.
- Connect to church mission committees, service groups, businesses and individuals to offer mini mission trips or ongoing volunteer opportunities.
- Recruit and schedule people to participate in the monthly Friends Friday you will lead, to see our campus and take the next step to give time. Follow up with Friends Friday participants to talk through how they would like to volunteer, the frequency and set a plan in motion for each individual or group.
- Organize community events to provide Eagle Village updates and recruit volunteers.
- Plan and track visits and outcomes with churches, service groups, businesses and individuals to increase the number of volunteers that impact Eagle Village.
- Set goals to increase the number of volunteers, participation in Friends Fridays and volunteer projects completed.
- Create a volunteer appreciation plan.
- Track what volunteers accomplished, time given and send a year end letter to acknowledge their contribution and include in the Impact Report.
- Willingness to work some evenings and weekends to accommodate volunteer availability.
- Provide talent and energy to implement Team strategies to reach goals.
- Assist with special events in communities and on campus (Eagles Pride, Village Christmas, Fall Donor Event).
- Participate in a 2-week onboarding process as a new employee for Eagle Village.
- Other job-related duties as assigned by the Vice President for Advancement and / or Eagle Village organization based on the talents of the successful candidate.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and / or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree in related field and job-related experience and / or training. Word, Excel, and database training or experience required. Must have good communication and writing skills. Possess prior experience in public relations or marketing expected. Evidence of applicant being a self-starter who is creative, motivated, accurate, dependable, and possesses good organizational skills with ability to handle multiple tasks will be highly considered.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of donors or employees of organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. The ability to compute rate, ratio, and determine percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY
The ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions whether they are furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Valid Michigan driver's license and good driving record.
