SUMMARY :

This position requires a person who is energetic, enjoys genuine conversations and working with all types of people and is passionate about Eagle Village. This position includes traveling a minimum of three days per week, developing relationships with churches, colleges and any other groups that will assist in the recruitment of mission minded staff. This person will work together with the Vice President of Operations and Human Resource Department to recruit for current openings and also looking at future growth openings. This position will develop relationships with the incoming team members and assist with onboarding and continued training.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

1. Will align and promote the vision and mission of Eagle Village, Inc.

2. Adhere to the policies and procedures of Eagle Village and State of Michigan.

3. Design and implement overall recruiting strategy that includes working with the Vice President of Operations for current open positions as well as growth potential.

4. Will develop a 6-month strategy of places to visit and develop a database of contacts. This database will be kept current for mailings, phone numbers and other pertinent information pertaining to recruitment of staff members.

5. Assist with job description development and updating. Become familiar with the job descriptions of current openings.

6. Meet with Supervisors / Managers / Directors / Vice Presidents of open position to profile the position for the best recruitment strategies and hiring to match as close to profile as possible.

7. Attend all identified career and job fairs, making a plan of attendance and who should attend the job fairs.

8. Interface with Post-Secondary Education facilities to develop robust internship program with Recruitment work group. Monitor interns and progress toward outcomes.

9. Work with marketing department to develop marketing pieces.

10. Post jobs to appropriate job boards, newspapers, colleges, etc. as well as videos, ads for social media.

11. Screen candidates resumes and job applications, and when applicable conducting first interviews with potential candidates.

12. Will continue to make weekly follow up contact with potential candidates and assisting with the hiring process.

13. Responsible for assisting with onboarding new employees and maintaining contact with them during the New Employee Orientation.

14. Responsible for assisting in program development for New Employees.

15. Responsible for tracking information to determine statistical reports of hiring success, the methods of success and methods that should be continually developed.

16. Responsible for continually evaluating and upgrading the New Employee Orientation and Gap Year program with the Training Director and Vice President of Operations.

17. Hosts interviewees, when possible. Act as a point of contact and build influential candidate relationships during the selections process.

18. Ability to travel- including overnight.

19. Mission focused, promoting the benefits of working at Eagle Village.

20. This position will work to continuously bring new recruitment ideas and recruitment strategies to the leadership team at Eagle Village, Inc.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES :

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS :

  • Bachelor's degree preferred but will consider 5 years or more of experience in lieu of education.
  • Minimum of 2 years work experience as a Recruiter or Admissions Counselor with a Bachelor's degree in Business, Social Services, Education or other related degrees.
  • Solid ability to conduct different types of interviews using various methods (phone, video, email, in-person).
  • Hands-on experience with software, database management, and internet search methods.
  • Excellent Communication and interpersonal skills, Excellent people skills.
  • Strong decision-making skills.
  • Strong writing and reading skills.
  • Must enjoy talking to and interfacing with people. Be available to travel and be gone over night for recruiting.
  • Must have demonstrated computer skills and experience using Word, Excel, Outlook, Publisher, PowerPoint, Internet Explorer, and other software applications. Must demonstrate ability to write correspondence.

LANGUAGE SKILLS :

Ability to read and interpret documents and procedure manuals, and to write routine business correspondence that are grammatically correct. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of supervisors, employees, clients, vendors, and the general public. A high level of interpersonal skills in order to communicate well and empathize with other people in stressful situations.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS :

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.

REASONING ABILITY :

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Ability to prioritize, multi-task and provide executive planning.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS :

Valid Michigan driver's license and good driving record.

QUALIFICATIONS :

EDUCATION and / or EXPERIENCE :

Minimum of 2 years work experience as a Recruiter or Admissions Counselor with a Bachelor's degree in Business, Social Services, Education or other related degrees.

LANGUAGE SKILLS :

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex documents. Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints. Ability to write speeches and articles using original or innovative techniques or style. Ability to make effective and persuasive speeches and presentations on controversial or complex topics to top management, public groups, and / or boards of directors.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS :

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.

REASONING ABILITY :

Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems. Ability to deal with nonverbal symbolism (formulas, scientific equations, graphs, musical notes, etc.,) in its most difficult phases. Ability to deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables.
