Quality Inspector

Responsibilities

• Inspect incoming and outgoing parts, materials, or work pieces to ensure they meet visual, dimensional, and test requirements from engineering drawings and organizational specifications.
• Perform visual inspection of finished and in-process products.
• Use measuring and testing equipment to verify physical properties and size of materials against conformance specifications.
• Utilize electronic systems to identify and track non-conforming items.
• Inspect completed mechanical seals to ensure conformance with requirements.
• Complete and distribute the appropriate paperwork related to inspections and quality control.
• Follow ISO 9001-2008 Quality Management System and Safety procedures.
• Comply with safety and quality policies, specifications, regulations, and instructions, while assisting departments to achieve customer satisfaction and on-time delivery of high-quality products.me delivery of high-quality products.
  
  

Qualifications

• Ability to comprehend and utilize ISO 9001-2008 Quality Management System procedures.
• Ability to read and interpret work orders, engineering drawings, and/or assimilate verbal work instructions.
• Ability to use O.D and I.D. micrometers, calipers, height gages and thread gages.
• High school diploma or general education degree; five years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of training/experience – Verifiable recent experience in machine shop inspection.
• Ability to recognize, set-up, and effectively use of general and advanced measuring and test equipment.
• Ability to perform gage calibrations, computer operation and mathematical computation.
• Have advanced knowledge in use of monitoring and measuring equipment associated with a machine shop environment.
• Good decision making skills.
• SAP user experience is a plus.
