Regional Detoxification Specialists (RDS) are responsible for the shift-by-shift supervision of the client milieu and
attending to client's essential needs while on detoxification and residential protocols.

The Regional Detoxification Specialists (RDS) works under direction of the Medical
Director and Executive or Program Director to oversee medical elements of the program, direct patient care, and implement treatment programming under philosophy of the company.
This position will help maintain operations and functioning of the treatment facility and the clients we serve. Ensure the smooth and efficient administration of care while maintaining the quality and integrity of services we provide. This position assists the Counselors, Therapists, and Administrators in setting the tone for the facility to ensure routines and schedules are being followed and met. Participate in developing and maintaining a therapeutic environment for clients as well as assisting clients in accomplishing treatment goals.
RDS Duties:
- Conducting assessments, urine screen, medication management, protocols and recurring assessments, secure search/storage of personal property. * Maintains compliance with HIPAA regulations, ADA, DHS, and Joint Commission policies and procedures.
- Communicating with physician, entering physician orders, and following physician orders in overseeing client medication management.
- Proficient documentation in KIPU Systems client management software.
- Documenting client daily progress.
- Facility walk-throughs and maintaining control of care environment establishing a consistent presence and awareness of client behavior.
- Enforcing policies and procedures.
- Maintaining cleanliness of medication office.
- Observing universal precautions and environment of care protocols and procedures
- Close observation and monitoring of clients symptoms, medication adverse reactions, and health status.
- Collaborates with Program Director to schedule offsite testing and ancillary medical appointments.
- Monitors medical care for all clients and provides guidance to staff via phone calls as needed and through daily interactions.
- Attends and/or facilitates staff in-service and other meetings when appropriate.
- Ensures proper documentation in regards to vitals, CIWA/COWs, fluid/ food intake, detox treatment planning, daily medical progress notes and medication compliance.
- Communicating thoroughly and accurately verbally and via shift notes to ensure continuity of high quality of care.
- Crisis Intervention. * Conducting client discharge, returning client personal items, logging and following destruction of medication procedures. * Available for questions from staff regarding medications and medication orders.
Competencies:
- Ability to multi-task, delegate tasks, manage clients care, maintain facility standards.
- Desire to assist those with chemical dependency in their recovery
Education:
- Minimum High School Graduate or GED.
- RDS Certification Desired
Experience:
- 1-2 years experience in the field of recovery or equivalent human services work experience preferred.
- Prior experience in detox environment highly desired.
- Robust knowledge of detox medications and protocols preferred
Computer Skills:
- Computer Literacy in doc, spreadsheet, and email.
- Ability to learn proficiency in KIPU Systems Clients Management Software
Certificates & Licenses:
- RDS Certification (may obtain after employment)
- Valid Driver's License
- CPR/First AID Certification
Other Requirements:
- Ability to pass a background check
- Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening and random drug screening
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $14.00 - $14.50 per hour
Expected hours: 32 – 48 per week
