Assistant Golf Professional
Reports to: Head Golf Professional
Supervises: Supervises golf shop staff and outside services staff.
Compensation: $30.00-$35.00 DOE. EagleVail Metro District allows employees free access to all District facilities.
Brief Job Description:
The Assistant Golf Professional assists the Head Golf Professional in the management of day-to-day golf operations. The position is responsible for supervising and managing total golf operations in the absence of the Head Golf Professional. All duties of the position shall be performed with a commitment to the highest level of customer service.
Education and/or Experience:
- Class-A member of the PGA or LPGA in good standing preferred.
- A High School diploma or equivalent is required. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Three years’ experience as a Golf Professional.
- Demonstrate a high level of integrity, a positive attitude, and a professional image.
- Strong background in customer service and golf operations.

- Must have strong organizational, planning and prioritization skills combined with outstanding service and have a customer-focused attitude.

- Comfortable working in a highly collaborative manner with the Head Golf Professional and other support staff.
- A self-motivated, role model for team members in all departments. Motivated to create and lead a culture around golf operations.
- A capable instructor who can adapt teaching techniques to apply to all golf levels and abilities.
- Assist with the scheduling of events.
- Maintains composure when confronted with problems and has the ability to handle criticism objectively.
- Review and understand the full scope of merchandising and its opportunities in both hard and soft goods areas, working closely with all golf shop staff to encourage a culture of friendliness and professionalism.
- Understands the principles of the rules of golf, handicaps, leagues, tournament and group play.
- Lead trainings, meetings, and professional development opportunities for outside services.
- Assists with the scheduling of tee times and assures all reservations are properly scheduled, paid, and accounted for in a fiscally responsible manner.
- Assists in the club’s social media marketing campaign relating to golf activities and promotions.
- Responsible for demo club and rental club inventories.
- Help ensure the golf course is properly marked with necessary paint, markers, and stakes for daily and competitive play.
- Assumes Head Golf Professional duties in his or her absence.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
- Sufficient stamina to tolerate hot, cold, and rainy outdoor weather for several consecutive hours.
- Able to meet and perform the physical requirements and to work effectively in an environment that is typical of this position.
