Strapping Operations Manager, EAM-Mosca Corp
EAM-Mosca Corp., Hazle Township PA, a dynamic market leader in the area of end-of-line automated packaging machinery and consumable strapping solutions. We are seeking a driven and experienced Operations Manager.
EAM-Mosca is privately held and retains a unique, focused, entrepreneurial culture. The key to the ongoing success of the business is a system-based product portfolio featuring standard as well as custom engineered packaging machinery solutions and a superior consumable packaging product, complimented by quality technical service and readily available aftersales parts support
Roles and Responsibilities
Working through shift supervision, manage all aspects of the strap production operation :
Safety
Quality
Product Quality
Waste Reduction
Manning
Training
Process
Production scheduling
Inventory management
Packaging material purchasing and availability
Resin availability and proper use by line and product specification as applicable
Participates in the development of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and Operational Objectives
Develop production processes to maintain the highest level of outgoing strapping quality
Maintain an up-to-date production schedule to optimize line productivity while meeting or exceeding customer delivery requirements and company inventory objectives
Build a strong production team with a common understanding of business objectives and ensure accountability for meeting performance goals
Promote development of performance culture as well as use of standard work to ensure and augment quality, cost and delivery metrics.
Review and approve all hourly production rate increases / adjustments
Education
4 year college degree, preferred
Operations Management or Technical major preferred
B.S. in engineering desirable
Education in polymer science or plastics technology ideal
Work Experience
Requirements
Strong supervisory, leadership and team building skills; demonstrated success in leading operations supervisors
Excellent communication skills. Ability to communicate clearly across the organization.
Progressive responsibility in operations management in a Manufacturing facility, plastics processing facility, preferred
Proven track record developing front line leadership and team culture as well as improvement in KPIs (safety, quality, delivery, cost)
Curiosity which drives understanding for development of both product and process
Demonstrated commitment to promoting employee health and safety
Familiarity with ISO and quality processes, especially process documentation and control
Willing / able to be accountable for product quality in demanding customer applications
Even tempered, calm leadership style in stressful situations
Hands-on manager, strong plant floor presence

Bilingual – English / Spanish
Preferences
Experience implementing or maintaining a ISO-9001 certified quality management system
Customer-first mentality with experience supporting products in the field
Multi-location / multi-country business background
High activity level with a calm demeanor
Data driven – experience with operational metrics and continuous improvement including lean, 6s, process capability analysis and implementing operational excellence programs.
Good understanding of cost systems and performance metrics as applied to operations management
