What are the responsibilities and job description for the Project Designer position at EAPC?
We have an exciting opportunity for an Architect/Project Designer candidate looking start or advance their career with an award-winning, full-service design and consulting firm!
At EAPC, our team of architects, engineers, interior designers, construction managers, and other professionals work together to create stunning structures and design for optimum performance.
As an Architect/Project Designer, you will:
- Perform architectural assignments with instruction from a Senior Architect, Principal, Sector Lead Architect or Project Manager.
- Modify or create documents and drawings and apply standard architectural techniques and procedures.
- Apply standard architectural techniques for small projects or selected segments of larger projects.
- Perform architectural assignments including higher-level work for training/development purposes.
- Research, compile, and record information for assigned project work.
- Assist in products and systems research.
- Produce graphic materials and images for client presentations.
- Foster a commitment to external and internal client service.
- Support the Sector Lead Architect with business development by:

Support and/or perform site entitlement work for Industrial sites, including the following:
- Research and review site zoning and associated requirements for zoning, planning and/or design review submittals with associated jurisdictions
- Create, design & review of architectural site plan, exterior elevations, building floor plans, rendering images and videos as necessary
- Provide design exhibits for staff and client review, including but not limited to: site photometrics, street view elevations & renderings, shade studies, colored site plans, and colored building elevations
- Create and coordinate presentations for neighborhood and/or staff review.
- Supporting the delivery of presentations for neighborhood and/or staff review.
- Facilitate and record questions and discussions from stakeholder groups.
- Attend client and city meetings for site/design review.
- Supporting the Sector Lead Architect as the client's liaison with the city and neighbors for submittals and fielding questions or concerns
- Supporting the Sector Lead Architect with coordinating necessary subcontractor groups, including but not limited to civil engineer, landscape architect, land surveyor, traffic engineer, and ownership team.
Qualifications:
- Degree in Architecture; B. Arch or M. Arch
- Licensure preferred; will consider all levels of experience
- Preference given to candidates with AXP credit and intent to complete requirements working towards ability to take licensure examination.
- Experience with software including Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks and Sketchup preferred
- Organizational skill and ability to prioritize multiple projects
- Strong public speaking and proactive communication skills or desire to develop.
- Self-motivated and able to work remotely with staff across EAPC's various offices and clients around the United States.
- Ability to effectively work and collaborate on a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to listen to the needs of team members and clients and turn them into action.
- Basic understanding of Microsoft office programs (Word, Excel, Powerpoint) and Microsoft Teams.
- Ability to operate basic office equipment, computers, plotters, phones.
- Ability to travel to off-site projects and offices.
- Must possess a valid driver's license.
- Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship.
This position will report directly to the Sector Lead Architect and will work as an integrated member of a multi-discipline, in-house team of engineers, architects, and BIM Modelers. Job title is dependent on qualifications.
Salary Range: $58,000-$85,000/year. The listed pay range represents the company's good faith estimate of the minimum and maximum base rate of pay for this position at the time of the posting. The selected candidate's compensation will be determined based on their work location, qualifications, relevant experience, operational needs, demonstrated performance over time, and internal pay alignment.
