Position Overview: We are looking for a detail-oriented and highly skilled Medical Biller to manage all aspects of our billing cycle. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in medical billing, preferably within a private practice setting, and a deep understanding of insurance claims, coding, and reimbursement processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform coding reviews for clinical visits, ensuring compliance with insurance guidelines for both commercial and government payers
- Prepare and submit insurance claims to various insurance companies, ensuring adherence to payer-specific requirements
- Review claim denials for coding errors and other issues, initiating corrections and resubmissions as necessary
- Proactively follow up on unpaid claims, addressing denials or rejections promptly to ensure timely reimbursement
- Accurately post payments and adjustments from Explanation of Benefits (EOB) statements and perform daily financial reconciliation for the clinic
- Read and interpret insurance Explanation of Benefits (EOBs) to identify payment discrepancies and take corrective action
- Handle inquiries from patients regarding visits, insurance coverage/benefits, payments, or general questions with a focus on delivering exceptional customer service
- Work closely with clinical and front office staff to ensure accurate documentation and assist with patient setup or insurance-related questions
- Review patient statements for accuracy and manage the collections process as needed, ensuring timely follow-up
- Stay current with changes in insurance regulations and billing practices, ensuring all billing activities comply with the latest standards
- Maintain strict patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations and organizational policies

Requirements:- Experience in medical billing preferred, demonstrating a solid track record of accuracy and efficiency
- Strong understanding of medical coding systems, including CPT, ICD-10 codes, and modifiers, ensuring precise and compliant coding practices
- Proven experience in filing claim appeals with insurance companies to secure maximum entitled reimbursements
- Proficient in utilizing medical billing software and EHR systems
- Familiarity with medical terminology, procedures, and insurance guidelines
- Capable of handling multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining a high level of accuracy and professionalism
- Ability to work courteously and respectfully with fellow employees and patients, fostering a positive and productive work environment
- Exceptional organizational skills and strong attention to detail, ensuring all billing activities are conducted efficiently and accurately
- Excellent phone and in-person customer service skills, providing clear and empathetic communication with patients and resolving inquiries promptly
- Strong critical thinking skills to identify issues, analyze information, and implement effective solutions
