Earlham College is seeking a Programmer Analyst to join our team!
Summary:
The Programmer Analyst will lead small and large-scale projects in an environment that values collaboration and initiative and provides technical knowledge to ensure the future viability of computer-based systems. Earlham utilizes Ellucian Banner ERP, Slate, Housing Cloud, and other administrative software applications.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Perform systems analysis and provide application support for administrative offices to collect, maintain, and disseminate institutional data.
- Design, analyze, develop, implement, and maintain enhancements to the College’s enterprise computer applications.
- Edit and write reports by querying the College databases.
- Provide technical assistance and training to end users as appropriate.
- Conduct analysis and problem-solving for mission-critical systems.
- Serve in a consulting capacity to programming staff, end users, and upper management regarding application capabilities, best practices, and functionality.
- Maintain technical currency and provide technical recommendations for strategic planning.
- Participate in intra-departmental projects and committees as appropriate.
- Utilize software vendor support resources to resolve issues when necessary.
- Assist in the maintenance and upgrades of administrative software.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a related field from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of three years of experience using SQL in a relational database environment, or an equivalent combination of education and training that provides the required skills, knowledge, and abilities.
- Experience in systems design, analysis, and programming, preferably in a higher education environment.
- Demonstrated working knowledge of relational database concepts, terms, and practices.
- Proven ability to perform detailed analysis with strong troubleshooting skills.
- Customer-service orientation and ability to work effectively with individuals at all levels and departments of the college.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Familiarity with the Ellucian Banner ERP system is preferred.
- Familiarity with Evisions Argos is preferred.
