Our After school teachers help to create a caring and safe environment for the children and assist in activities to improve the overall care and quality of education. S/he must be able to communicate, listen and work well with others in a team environment. Possess a willingness and desire to implement a quality educational program and develop positive relationships with the children and their parents. Teacher assistants are responsible for implementing developmentally appropriate activities based on children's interests and needs under the direction of the director and any other senior management members.
Duties
- Provide superior care for our children, including but not limited to constant supervision, direction and re-direction.
- Actively engage in activities; manage cleanliness, maintenance, and availability of classroom materials.
- Asist with homework related activities and encourage children to complete their homework during afterschool.
- Follow all center policies and state regulations.
- Help ensure smooth, daily transition from home to child care center and child care center to home.
Requirements
- Ideally, you'll have at least six (6) months to one (1) year of professional child care experience. If not, you must show signs that you are trainable and eager to learn and COMPASSIONATE towards children.
- High energy.
- Ability to work well with others.
- Strong oral and written communication skills and basic computer skills.
- An understanding of child development.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Infant/child CPR and First Aid certification, or willing to obtain through company.
- Must clear full background check
- Must have reliable transportation.
- Must be punctual.
- Must have a professional presence.
