Early Childhood Connections enriches the lives of children by working with the adults who affect their lives including parents, caregivers, educators and more. We are currently hiring for a full time Early Childhood Specialist – Professional Development emphasis to join our team in Rapid City, SD.
The Early Childhood Specialist coordinates the Child Development Associate (CDA) program, reviews and approves all classes presented by ECC educators. Assists in the organization and development of the annual education catalog, coordinates the development and delivery of customized training. This position will also provide classroom assessment, collaborative planning, technical assistance, and coaching for classrooms and educators. The position is accountable to Enrichment Program Director.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education or related field.
A minimum of 3-4 years working directly with children in a classroom or childcare center.
Driver license and a clean driving record.
Able to pass a pre-employment drug screening.
Able to pass a background check without history in the following areas:
Active charges or convictions of sexual crimes.
Active charges or convictions against children or elderly.
Active charges or convictions of a violent offense.
Active charges or convictions of a felony offense.
Strong computer skills include knowledge of operating systems, use of social media, using office suites, creating presentations, and using communication and collaboration tools.
Preferred Qualifications
- Masters degree or higher in education or a human services field.
This is classified as a full-time, exempt position with an annual salary and paid time off provided. Work is typically conducted Monday through Friday with a minimum of one evening per week and occasional weekends for organizational events.
