To be part of management team and ensure that a quality developmentally appropriate program is being delivered to all children/families.

· Performing all work in accordance with governmental laws, State mandates and company policies/procedures

· Meeting licensing requirements for the position in accordance with the State of New Jersey Regulations

· Meets the qualifications as outlines in the DYFS Manual

  • The Child Care Director must follow all policies/procedures as outlined in the Department of Childcare Licensing Manual as one will be provided for the Center Director and training will be conducted.

· Knowledge and understanding of New Jersey DYFS Manual of Requirements and staying informed on manual updates and or manual changes via the Office of Childcare Licensing website

· Occasional prolonged and irregular hours, hours of operation 7:00am to 5:00pm

· Has an understanding of the Staff and Parent handbooks and follows all policies/procedures within the handbook including Reasonable Accommodations policies/procedures

  • TheChild Care Director will be responsible for ensuring staff, parents/guardians’ adherence to all center policies and procedures outlined in Parent and Employee Handbooks.
  • The Child Care Director must make sure that the facility is safe and well-stocked. That includes checking that safety equipment is available and working, removing hazards and ensuring the facility is always clean and orderly.
  • TheChild Care Director must have strong crisis management abilities, being able to remain cool and composed in a crisis and follow all crisis protocol/ policies and or procedures when necessary.
  • TheChild Care Director must have a good knowledge of child safety requirements and be up-to-date on first aid protocol. Must be CPR and First Aid Certified.
  • Conducting all programs, and activities within the safety standards/policies/procedures of the company
  • The Child Care Director must complete a minimum of 20 hours of continuing education annually. Shows willingness to continually increase knowledge in the ECE field.
  • The Child Care Center Director should perform in such a manner that 85% of all children enrolled will remain enrolled for at least six months or longer in Little Graduates Preschool and Learning Centers program
  • The Child Care Center Director must assure that all contacts with parents/guardians/staff/students and visitors will be conducted in a courteous and professional manner and demonstrate concern for the emotional needs of all contacts
  • Exhibiting warmth, emotional, stability, and awareness of emotional needs of subordinates at all times
  • The Child Care Center Director must assure that she/he is guarding and protecting all information of confidential manner (all employees must sign the confidentiality Statement and the Non-Compete Agreement upon hire)
  • Employing constructive methods of group control and individual behavior as standard operating procedures
  • Evaluating all work, systems and procedures and staff assigned to this and or other positions
  • Demonstrate the following qualities; makes good judgement, self-motivated, follow directions/recommendations, creative, reliable, and dependable.
  • Exhibits sincere interest in working with children and is knowledgeable regarding children’s development/growth
  • Sign a Criminal History Disclosure
  • Physical constraints include the ability to hear the conversational voice, with or without a hearing aid, the ability to see and read news print with or without corrective lenses, to speak and be understood under normal circumstances, to lift and carry children and other items weighing up to 50 pounds, and the use of arms, hands, legs, feet with or without corrective devices to accomplish the job, including evacuation of the building during emergencies. · Any additional duties which may be assigned by the Administration/Owner/Sponsor

· TheChild Care Director will be responsible for supervising, observing, evaluating, and mentoring staff of approximately 7 to 12 employees.

· TheChild Care Director must interview, hire and train staff, making sure that all background and fingerprint checks have been conducted and 16 hours of orientation has been completed. Hiring must be approved through Administration at all times.

· It is the responsibility of the Child Care Director when hiring teaching staff, to be sure that new teachers/staff know how to handle a group of children, understand childhood development and have the “know-how” to establish classroom structure.

  • TheChild Care Director will work closely with the center’s teachers and staff, creating learning plans and /or programs to meet state and federal requirements and parent’s expectations.
  • The Child Care Director is responsible for ensuring the implementation of a developmentally appropriate curriculum in all classrooms.
  • TheChild Care Director will be responsible for arranging staff to ensure ratios are being met at all times dismissing part-time staff when no longer needed.
  • TheChild Care Director will create a positive rapport with all staff members through daily interactions.
  • The Child Care Director’s job is to keep staff motivated and resolve conflicts, which takes good leadership skills.
  • The Child Care Director will meet with parents and teachers to keep parents up-to-date on their child’s development and progress, including discussing ways to address any learning or behavioral issues.
  • As the face of the childcare facility, the Child Care Director must be an excellent communicator, being able to confidently take prospective parents on a tour, conduct staff meetings and address staff and or families when questions and or concerns arise.
  • The Child Care Director will be responsible for addressing and documenting any concerns or incidents regarding children, parents, and/or staff as well as reviewing and approving all forms to parents

B.) Bachelor’s Degree in any field related to children or business with at least one year of managerial or supervisory experience.

Pay: $55,000.00 - $57,000.00 per year
