POSITION TITLE
ABC Preschool Teacher—Early Childhood Education
QUALIFICATIONS
- Valid State of Arizona Teaching Certificate.
- Must hold Arizona State Special Education credentials.
- Possesses a current CPR and First Aid certifications.
- Possesses a valid Arizona State Fingerprint Clearance Card.
- Evidence of successful teaching experience.
- Pre-school or Headstart experience preferred.
- Early Childhood endorsement required.

JOB GOAL
To increase the student’s social, academic, motor, and communication skills as developmentally appropriate and facilitate learning, success, and positive interdependence within the classroom setting.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Understands the developmental needs of children ages 3-5 years old.
- Plans a program of study that, as much as possible, meets the needs, interests, and abilities of the students.
- Creates a classroom environment that is conductive to learning and appropriate to the developmental needs of the students.
- Prepares for classes assigned and shows written evidence of preparation upon request from immediate supervisor.
- Encourages students to set and maintain standards of classroom behavior.
- Assists in the identification and evaluation process of Special Education students according to State and Federal guidelines.
- Assists in the development of Individual Education Plans and Individual Transition Plans.
- Ensures confidentiality of students.
- Maintains and ensures that student records are kept in compliance according to State and Federal guidelines.
- Organizes and/or manages any additional supports and resources deemed necessary.
- Communicates effectively with colleagues and parents regarding student’s progress and/or school expectations.
- Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
Nine and one-half (9.5) months a year of employment. The Governing Board will establish salary and work year.

Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on Evaluation of Professional Personnel.
