Position Summary
The Technical Assistance (TA) Consultant is a member of the Equity and Leadership team. The TA Consultant will be responsible for implementing training and technical assistance with the growing National Center for Family and Parent Leadership, including but not limited to:
- Supporting communities, regions, and states in building capacity and solving complex issues affecting young children and their families.
- Creating and executing new initiatives, training programs, and curriculum/materials for the National Center in collaboration with the ECIC leadership team and program team members.
- Developing and delivering training, technical assistance, and consultation for state agencies, and regional and local organizations working with young children and families in Michigan and nationwide.
- Delivering content expertise and resources to communities, state agencies, and national organizations via trainings, consultation, facilitation, webinars, and other methods of education and information dissemination.
- Building and maintaining relationships with partners and clients, providing consultation and support for organizations involved with young children and families.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Deliver content expertise and resources to communities, state agencies, and national organizations via training, consultation, facilitation, webinars, and other methods of education and information dissemination.
- Fulfill specific project-based deliverables for partners and funders.
- Engage stakeholders through events, meetings, and outreach activities.
- Stay abreast of emerging trends, best practices, and research to share with clients and to continuously improve services and offerings.
- Manage activities as assigned, including but not limited to training and technical assistance projects for external and internal clients.
- Collaborate internally with Program Directors and Project Managers within ECIC to meet internal training and technical assistance needs.
- Promote ECIC’s service offerings and help partners/clients meet their strategic and tactical goals to measurably improve child outcomes.
- Present at conferences, curate, and disseminate research, best practices, and resources via e-bulletin, respond to external questions and requests, and network at local, regional, statewide and national early childhood programs and events to increase brand visibility.
- Support convenings and virtual communities of practice to promote shared learning and networking among early childhood partners.
- Monitor grant and other funding opportunities and evaluate alignment with organizational goals, developing recommendations for ongoing and future funding partnerships.
- Support work plans and training activities to advance strategic goals.
- Work closely and collaboratively with lived experience consultants.
- Required: Bachelor’s degree in relevant field or equivalent experience.
- Required: Five to seven (5-7) years of work experience, including at least two years in a training, facilitation, or consulting role in Early Childhood.
- Demonstrated success in the development and implementation of training and technical assistance programming on a statewide or national scale.
- Specialties in two or more training content areas that are marketable to current and potential ECIC clients, and state and national leaders in the Early Childhood field.
- Ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and professionally both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to maintain accuracy and attention to detail while managing multiple tasks, projects, and timelines.
- Ability to use data and analytical skills to proactively identify opportunities, set priorities, and solve problems.
- Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills.
- Ability to partner with racially and ethnically diverse colleagues and community members.
- Proficiency in distance learning technologies including conference calls, online meetings, and webinars.
- Proficiency in communication and data collection tools such as Constant Contact and Survey Monkey.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe, and web-based applications.
- Possession of a valid driver’s license and vehicle or other ability to travel throughout Michigan, including periodic overnight travel.
- Talking - Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word to impart oral information to others accurately. (4-5 hours daily)
- Hearing - Perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction. Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, and to make the discriminations in sound. (4-5 hours daily)
- Walking - Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for long distances or moving from one work site to another. (1-2 hours daily)
- Standing – In one position, particularly for sustained periods of time. (1-2 hours daily)
- Visual Acuity – Viewing objects with close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; and/or extensive reading. (5-6 hours daily)
- Office Setting - Sedentary work in which exerting up to 10 pounds of force is occasional and a negligible amount of force is frequently or constantly used to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time.
Salary : $50,558 - $55,000
