Barrington School District's Early Childhood Learning Center (ECLC) is seeking a dynamic, compassionate, and enthusiastic Kindergarten Teacher to join our community.  The ECLC provides a welcoming, healthy, safe, confidence-inspiring environment where individuality is nurtured and independence is fostered.  Our kindergarten teachers provide Barrington students with a strong academic, social emotional, and developmental foundation for future learning.   

 

 

 

 

POSITION TITLE: Kindergarten Teacher

 

Minimum Qualifications: 

New Hampshire Certification 

2-5 Years of Experience

 

REPORTS TO: Building Principal

  • Knowledge of subject content

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to organize and prioritize tasks, projects, and assignments
  • Work effectively with students, staff and parents
  • Establish appropriate instructional goals and objectives for the class taught that are consistent for the state standards and the district curriculum.
  • Correlate appropriate learning activities with the instructional objectives.
  • Effectively integrate technology.
  • Prepare and maintain written plans and modify them as necessary.
  • Implement classroom management, in line with the school wide program.
  • Develop and maintain a classroom environment conducive to learning.
  • Respects confidentiality.
  • Submit progress reports on each student with recommendations for further development.
  • Review and request the purchase of appropriate instructional materials to meet the needs of the students/ curriculum; provide budget needs to the building principal.
  • Work with colleagues to assess students, analyze data and determine ways the enhance student achievement.
  • Supervise students throughout the school, on field trips and other recreational and other extra-curricular activities as assigned.
  • Uphold and enforce school rules, administrative regulations and school board policies.
  • Strive to achieve district and school goals.
  • Attend and participate in faculty/ staff meetings and contribute to school/ district committees and work groups.
  • Foster a positive, respectful, and supportive classroom environment that promotes student independence, self-advocacy, and growth.
  • Communicates with parents through conferences and other means to discuss pupil’s progress and interpret the school program
  • Uses informal and formal assessment procedures, such as, but not limited to, diagnostic achievement tests or classroom observations, to assist with the provision of appropriate services
