Job Description:
The Assistant Director is responsible for assisting the Early Enrichment Center Director in ensuring the health, safety, and quality of education for all children within the center’s care. Collaborates with staff to ensure that curriculum and classroom activities are properly delivered, and that the needs of the students/parents and the goals of the center are met appropriately. He/she will oversee high-level administrative task while also analyzing and improving organizational processes. This role will also serve as an assistant with regards all donor relations and financial reconciliation.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in implementing school policies, procedures and systems to ensure a safe, healthy environment in compliance with Early Enrichment Center and State Standards at all times. Specific procedures of critical compliance are but not limited to release procedures, sign in and out, medication, bus run/field trip procedures as well as amended protocols and procedures as needed
- Assist Director with the coordination and management in the provision of education services to childcare/preschool children in all Community Partner programs in accordance with established standards.
- Assist Director in the preparation for local and national site visits/audits (i.e. DHS 3 STAR assessment, DHS Program visits, etc.) and self-assessments which includes conducting ongoing classroom observations and file reviews. Facilitate the ongoing efforts so we continue to be recognized with a 3 STAR rating through Department of Human Services
- Manages all vendor and partnership agreements including the ongoing relationship with logistic functions that pertain to Idlewild Presbyterian Church.
- Responsible for Crisis Management Plan including the development, implementation, communication, and training
- Oversee the onboarding process for all new hires. This includes monitoring the application process, setting up interview, reference and background checks, staff training, and other procedures as requested by DHS.
- Collaborating with EEC Director, responsible for student enrollment process including registration, fees, and waitlist assignments
- Troubleshoot all technology issues for EEC operation
- Responsible for the monthly financial reconciliation and working collaboratively with Bookkeeper to ensure timely and accurate documentation
- Assist Director in leading teaching staff and ensure completion of classroom documentation with a focus on kindergarten readiness classrooms.
- Oversee Early Enrichment Center Parent Advisory Council and serve as liaison between the Parent Advisory Council and the Early Enrichment Center
- Schedule and conduct tours for prospective families
- Oversee the onboarding process for all new hires. This includes monitoring the application process, setting up interviews, reference and background checks, staff training, and other procedures as requested by Department of Human Service.
- Collaborating with Early Enrichment Center Director, responsible for student enrollment process including registration, fees, and waitlist assignments
- Cultivate and nurture parent teacher relationships which includes education and fostering student and teacher check in requirements
- Ensure Department of Human Service compliance through maintenance of staff/children files.
- Serve as a representative on one or more Idlewild/Children and Family Enrichment/ Early Enrichment Center Committee to help build collaboration
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood or related field and two years’ experience in early childhood education.
- Be familiar with Tennessee Department of Human Services licensing requirements
- Understanding of general budgeting and finance, including cash flow management and profit & loss statement.
- Ability to build consensus and relationships with teachers, and other collaborators.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times.
- Be familiar with age- appropriate tools for emotional self-regulation
- Excellent computer skills in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Outlook, customer relationship management systems. Ability to learn new software required.
- Ability to clearly communicate verbally and in writing.
- Strong grammar, proofreading, and editing skills.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize work while managing multiple deadlines.
- Demonstrate a commitment and ability to interact with diverse populations.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 - $21.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 45 per week
