Job Summary
Our Preschool housekeeper/floater is responsible for ensuring that the center is clean, safe, and well-maintained. This person will play a crucial role in maintaining a healthy and pleasant environment for students, staff, and visitors. Additionally, this person will support teachers by covering bathroom breaks, lunch breaks, planning time, etc. This person is required to have the ability to build positive relationships with children, families, and staff as well as the ability to work well with children.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Organizing:
Implement and maintain organizational systems for materials and supplies of all kinds throughout the center.
Cleaning:
Laundry is done multiple times daily
Dust mop, sweep, and mop all floors
Vacuum all rugs at the end of the day
Clean glass doors and dust all window frames daily and as needed
Clean and sanitize classroom sinks, common areas, and restrooms
Disinfect frequently touched surfaces like doorknobs, light switches, and handrails.
Trash removal after lunch and at the end of the day, clean trash cans daily including the lid
Report any maintenance or repair needs to the appropriate personnel.
Ensure that supplies like paper towels, soap, and toilet paper are adequately stocked in restrooms and other common areas.
Wash all classroom windows inside and out weekly
Assist in Kitchen cleaning as needed
Dust office weekly
Dust vents monthly or as needed
Lift all rugs and carpets in classrooms and hallway and sweep and mop monthly or as needed
Special Events Support:
Assist with setup and cleanup for school events, meetings, and gatherings.
Adherence to Safety and Health Standards:
Follow safety and health guidelines to maintain a clean and safe environment.
Use appropriate cleaning products and equipment safely.
Teamwork:
Collaborate with other members of the school staff
Effectively communicate with teachers & staff to provide assistance in classrooms
Cover staff for breaks
Flexible hours to cover Kitchen Coordinator if needed.
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Previous experience in housekeeping or janitorial work is a plus.
Knowledge of cleaning products and equipment.
Attention to detail and the ability to work independently.
Physical fitness and the ability to lift and move heavy objects.
Strong communication skills.
Adherence to safety and health standards.
Clear DHHS Criminal Background Check or prepared to undergo one
Certification in first aid and CPR or obtain certification within 90 days
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $11.00 - $16.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
