General Expectations
- Create and deliver training to early childcare and education practitioners and families
- Provide support to Director of Family Engagement
- Assists with the planning and delivery of ongoing professional learning experiences
- Planning and implementing family events, and activities in communities with diverse populations
- Works as a team member demonstrating flexibility, assisting other programs/ departments/agencies and lending support as needed and requested
- Understands the ebbs and flows of work and manages accordingly
- Functions within the policies and administrative procedures of the Coalition
- Ensures the quality (neat, accurate, and thorough) and quantity (amount of work during a given amount of time) of work meets expectations necessary to fulfill the Coalition’s mission
- Demonstrates dependability and drive in completing work assignments
- Understands the importance of confidentiality regarding program quality support activities, and is always cognizant of this when speaking to others in the community
- Works independently, and exercises professional competency, balanced temperament, composure, discipline, and maturity
- Maintains flexibility to manage multiple tasks while meeting critical timelines
- Develops, and conduct training for early childcare and education practitioners and families
- Assists with the planning and delivery of ongoing professional learning experiences
- Plans and implements family events and activities in communities with diverse populations
- Provides family engagement support to targeted providers as assigned
- Monitors program effectiveness through pre and post-assessments, surveys, data collection, and evaluations of participants
- Develops parent education materials.
- Develops and maintains a working relationship with center directors, staff, community partners, and families
- Documents communication and support are given to early childhood practitioners and families
- Demonstrates exemplary customer service, networking, and interpersonal skills with people from various backgrounds and diverse groups
- Maintains documentation for reports when needed
- Keeps informed of current trends and new professional techniques through participation in professional workshops, conferences, and seminars, and by reading professional journals and publications
- Attends and participates in required meetings, training, and job-related events
- 1Maintains a high level of professionalism and supports the success of the mission and vision of the Early Learning Coalition
- Represents ELC of Duval and maintains positive collaborations among stakeholders and community partners
- Other areas of support as assigned by the Director of Family Engagement
- Performs work requiring advanced knowledge and education in childhood development, how to create and deliver curriculum, and methods for collaborating with providers, families and residents in identified neighborhoods.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to communicate effectively to providers and families, exercising discretion and judgment
- Ability to handle multiple projects, set priorities, and use time management skills
- Ability to solve problems and seek clarification when needed
- Strong proficiency on computer hardware, software programs and web -based learning platforms used by ELC of Duval
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, Educational Leadership, or Educational Administration is required
- Strong technology skills is preferred.
- Experience in early childhood education and/or human services
- Experience working in a non-profit work environment
- Knowledge of community resources particularly in underserved communities
- Experience in designing and implementing remote and in-person training activities and materials for adult learners
- A schedule could be flexible upon request
- 40-hour work week / 11-month position
- Primarily works in the community and remotely from home. Work will also take place in an office setting, in a training environment or in a child care facility.
- Travel required for networking meetings, site visits, training, and visibility events
- Some nights and weekends are required for training and special events
- Able to lift up to 30 lbs.
