Job Summary

Essential Functions And Key Tasks

- Coordinate activities related to literacy and literacy initiatives, including reading event coordination, volunteer recruiting, and material ordering and distribution.
- Train and support literacy specialist.
- Facilitate community relationships related to literacy.
- Collaborate with coworkers to support literacy efforts through other types of contact.
- Support Grade Level Reading campaign.
- Facilitate literacy micro-credential coaching and brain game.
- Serve as liaison for Transition to Kindergarten activities.

- Coordinate tasks and keep supervisory team informed of task activity.
- Report and analyze program activities to act on tasks.
- Support department purchasing.
- Support policies, procedures, and processes for department activities.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
- A bachelor’s degree in early childhood education or related field from an accredited university/college or a combination of associate degree and Preferred experience listed below.
- Minimum two years of experience in a child care setting.
- Minimum four years of experience with literacy focused duties.
- Minimum two years of experience with training adults.
- Literacy micro-credential and coaching certification.
- Conscious Discipline coaching certification.
- Training and implementation of trauma-informed care, Conscious Discipline, and strengthening families approaches.

- Regularly required to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time, walk, use hands and fingers to handle or feel; reach with hand and arms, climb and/or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, talk and hear.
- Must regularly lift and/or move up to twenty pounds, occasionally lift and/or move up to fifty pounds with assistance.
- Telework will require internet speeds of 4Mpbs download/4Mpbs upload and working in the immediate geographical area.
- Must have reliable transportation, minimum insurance coverage, and a clean driving record.
