S UMMARY :
The Director of Family Engagement is responsible for working with both internal and external stakeholders to develop and implement a successful family and community engagement strategy, establish and strengthen existing relationships / partnerships in support of the agency's mission and goal. The Director is also responsible for overseeing the implementation of developmental screening services including inclusion support for School Readiness, Voluntary Prekindergarten and locally funded programs. This position serves as a customer service role model to ensure a positive relationship in interactions with all employees and customers.
HOURS :
This is a full-time position, and business hours at the Boynton location is Monday through Friday 8 : 30 am to 5 : 00 pm. Longer hours, evenings, and weekends may be necessary on occasion.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES :
- Develops, plans, and oversees implementation of agency written plans, policies, and procedures regarding parents, providers, and partners with the consistent goal of meeting the needs of low-income families with sensitivity to cultural differences and group dynamics for a quality education childcare experience.
- Supports staff as appropriate and / or requested in family engagement and early intervention.
- Offers parents access to the child development screening during enrollment and eligibility appointment inclusive of providing an informed consent / decline for services.
- Organizes and manages Community Events.
- Develops Community Partnerships to support future "Parent Training / Education".
- Assists with community outreach and awareness activities / events; acts as Community Partner Liaison.
- Works with Quality Programs, EHS and other internal departments to develop Parent / Community Education Training (ASQ, Why Quality Matters, VPK, etc.).
- Maintains up-to-date knowledge and familiarity with School Readiness (SR) and Voluntary Prekindergarten (VPK). Statues and the Office and Early Learning (OEL), Department of Education(DOE). Office of Head Start and Department of Children and Families (DCF) guidance, their requirements and their efforts on local communities.
- Provides assistance to child care providers regarding early intervention, inclusion and family engagement as requested.
