Position Overview
We are looking for a flexible and reliable On-Call Substitute Teacher to join our team. As a substitute, you’ll provide coverage across all classrooms, from infants to PreK4, when teachers are absent. You must be available Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:30 PM, and we guarantee a minimum of 20 hours per week. The ideal candidate is comfortable working with all age groups and willing to assist with diaper changes and other caregiving tasks as needed.
Training will be required upon hiring and will be compensated.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide classroom coverage for lead or assistant teachers, ensuring a smooth continuation of the daily routine.
- Implement lesson plans and learning activities for infants through PreK4 as directed by the teaching team.
- Supervise children during classroom activities, outdoor play, mealtimes, and rest periods.
- Change diapers and assist with potty training as needed, ensuring the safety and hygiene of all children.
- Foster a nurturing, supportive environment where children can learn and grow.
- Communicate effectively with other staff members to ensure consistency in the classroom.
- Follow all school policies and procedures regarding health, safety, and classroom management.
Qualifications
- Experience working in a childcare, early childhood education, or early elementary setting is required.
- Willingness to work with all age groups, from infants to PreK4, and comfort with diaper changing and other caregiving tasks.
- Flexible and adaptable, with the ability to step into different classrooms as needed.
- Strong communication and classroom management skills.
- Must have access to reliable transportation.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; some college coursework in education or a related field preferred.
- Must be willing to complete required training upon hiring.
