Earn to Learn is hiring a Scholarship Access & Resource Specialist to join our service driven team. This is a full-time, benefits eligible, remote position with residency in the state of Arizona preferred, but not required. POSITION SUMMARY:
The Scholarship Access & Resource Specialist will be instrumental in providing support and helping to optimize the recruitment and application process for Earn to Learn applicants, ensuring a smooth and effective experience. This role includes managing recruitment applications during early enrollment, guiding students through application steps, connecting them with additional post-secondary resources and monitoring the application and recruitment processes to identify and address issues promptly. The Scholarship Access & Resource Specialist will work closely with internal teams to meet enrollment goals and align efforts with program objectives.
An important area of focus for the Scholarship Access & Resource Specialist will be to offer continued support and assistance to any student(s) who do not meet the ETL scholarship criteria, by exploring and introducing them to additional resources and alternative educational scholarship opportunities. This position requires strong interpersonal skills and a passion for supporting educational access, helping students overcome barriers to achieve academic success.
Additionally, the Scholarship Access & Resource Specialist will, alongside the AmeriCorps service members, manage daily administrative and operational tasks in line with AmeriCorps grant requirements and ensure compliance with AmeriCorps objectives.
The ideal candidate possesses exceptional organizational skills, can communicate clearly, collaborate effectively, is flexible and can easily adapt to a fast-paced and often evolving environment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Early Enrollment Pipeline Management:
- Support and implement early enrollment and recruitment processes and strategies, developed by ETL program Directors and Executive Leadership
- Track and analyze early enrollment data to identify bottlenecks or gaps in the pipeline, liaise with leadership on tangible solutions to address issues quickly to meet recruitment targets
- Student Support & Guidance:
- Establish and continually grow pipeline-process knowledge to provide well-rounded support to students and team members responsible for assisting students in identifying the next steps in their post-secondary journey
- Serve as the primary contact for AmeriCorps members, with the focus on adaptability in fully supporting students through the early enrollment process by answering questions related to the application and scholarship requirements, and financial literacy training, or identifying additional post-secondary resources
- Establish and continually grow knowledge of additional resources and alternative educational scholarship opportunities; develop additional resource tools for students
- Data & Reporting:
- Monitor enrollment metrics and generate regular reports on application statuses, demographic trends, and early enrollment efficiency to highlight any need for strategy adjustments
- Use CRM systems to manage student information and maintain accurate records of interactions, progress, and outcomes
- Process Improvement:
- Continually assess the early enrollment process, providing updates and recommendations to the Director of Community Engagement to enhance the experience and refine the process for applicants
- Collaborate with internal teams, as directed, to streamline workflows and ensure that all application and enrollment support materials are clear, accessible, and up to date
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Be comfortable in a “virtual office” environment. Familiarity with and a desire to increase competency with online software and platforms
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced and evolving marketplace that requires flexibility and adaptability
- Strong communication skills (non-verbal, verbal, interpersonal, written & listening)
- Highly proficient with Microsoft Excel (formatting, use of basic formulas including “if” functions, data sorting, etc.)
- Knowledge of and familiarity with Access based databases or other query-able database systems desired
- Strong team-player, as a team approach is core to ETL
- Able to work and produce results with limited day to day supervision
- Sensitive to the issues of multicultural and multigenerational individuals and their families
- Fast learner with the ability to troubleshoot minor problems
- Exemplary time and task management skills
- Highly disciplined and organized Competency with Outlook, collaborative chat, conferencing environments (Microsoft Teams), and cloud-based document storage platforms (OneDrive/SharePoint)
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: (Required unless stated as “preferred”, “a plus” or “desired”)
Education/Formal Training/Certifications:
- Associate degree or certification from an accredited post-secondary institution in a related field (such as Business, or Communications)
- Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred
Experience:
- 2 years experience in program support/coordination (3 preferred)
- 2 years direct service experience with low- and moderate-income populations
- 2 years experience with Microsoft Office 365 applications, access-based or query-able database systems and data tracking
- 2 years experience with electronic filing and database systems
- 1 years of nonprofit experience (preferred)
- 1 years of experience working in a remote/virtual setting (preferred)
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Exceptional written, oral, interpersonal, and presentation skills
- Culture and mission-driven; extremely passionate about college access and increasing opportunities for all students
- Comfortable in a “virtual office” environment using virtual systems to communicate with a geographically dispersed team
- Familiarity with and a desire to increase competency with online software and platforms
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced and evolving marketplace that requires flexibility and adaptability
- Exudes a positive outlook and is willing to accept challenges and changes
- Continuously solicits feedback for improvement and goal achievement
- Competency with Outlook, collaborative chat, conferencing environments (Microsoft Teams), and cloud-based document storage platforms (OneDrive/SharePoint)
- Highly disciplined and organized with exemplary time and task management skills and the ability to work and produce results with limited day to day supervision
Other relevant experience may be considered as substitutes for above qualifications.
REMOTE WORK REQUIREMENTS
Earn to Learn is a fully remote organization. The following are required for remote home office work:
- Dedicated private, quiet, professional appearing home office space for hosting webinars and conducting virtual video meetings
- Reliable, password protected, high-speed home internet (at least 10 Mbps for a single user)
- Ability to work from a remote home office in addition to occasional onsite work at school campuses
TRAVEL AND AVAILABILITY
The ETL program primarily serves low-income students and their family members. It is essential that team members are sensitive to the schedules of our participants and are flexible in allocating their time. Weekly schedules may vary somewhat depending on program cycles, and organizational priorities. Evening and weekend work may be required occasionally. Minimal, occasional travel within Arizona may be required.
