Description
The Staff Accountant will prepare financial reports to track the organizations assets, liabilities, profit and loss, liabilities, and other related financial activities. Responsible for accounting for racquet/fitness clubs, durable medical equipment businesses, hotels and other companies.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with General Managers of companies to support the management and growth of each business
- Perform general accounting and other related duties in the accounting department
- Prepare periodic (monthly) balance sheets, income statements, and profit and loss statements
- Maintain the general ledger
- Code invoices, set up new accounts, reconcile accounts, and close the monthly books
- Reconcile bank accounts monthly, verify deposits, and address inquiries from banks
- Verify payment of invoices associated with accounts payable and ensure payments are charged to the appropriate accounts
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications
Qualifications
- Bachelors in Accounting or four years related accounting experience
- Must possess a sense of urgency and excellent follow through
- Knowledgeable all aspects of accounting
- Understand and be able to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles
- High proficiency with accounting software
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
