Job Summary:
Earth Resources Corp is seeking an experienced Fleet Manager to oversee the maintenance, operation, and logistics of our heavy equipment fleet. The Fleet Manager will be responsible for ensuring that all vehicles and machinery are properly maintained, compliant with safety regulations, and operate efficiently to support our Heavy Civil Construction projects. This role requires strong organizational skills, mechanical knowledge, and the ability to manage budgets, schedules, and a team of technicians. Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the maintenance, repair, and operation of a fleet of heavy equipment, including excavators, bulldozers, loaders, and haul trucks.
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and maximize equipment lifespan.
- Track equipment usage, fuel consumption, and maintenance records to ensure optimal performance.
- Manage inventory of parts, tools, and supplies needed for repairs and maintenance.
- Ensure compliance with DOT, OSHA, and other safety regulations.
- Coordinate with project managers and field supervisors to schedule equipment for job sites as needed.
- Negotiate contracts with vendors, suppliers, and service providers to secure the best pricing and service levels.
- Monitor and manage fleet-related expenses, including fuel, repairs, and replacement costs.
- Train and oversee a team of mechanics, technicians, and equipment operators to maintain high operational standards.
- Conduct regular inspections of fleet assets to identify potential issues and implement corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate records of vehicle registration, permits, and insurance compliance.
- Recommend fleet upgrades and replacements based on usage, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Fleet Manager, Heavy Equipment Manager, or related role in construction or a similar industry.
- Strong knowledge of heavy equipment maintenance, diagnostics, and repair procedures.
- Understanding of DOT regulations, fleet compliance requirements, and safety protocols.
- Ability to manage budgets, analyze costs, and implement cost-saving strategies.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in fleet management software, spreadsheets, and reporting tools.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills to manage teams and coordinate with multiple departments.
- Valid driver’s license (CDL preferred but not required).
- Willingness to travel to job sites as needed.
Working Conditions:
- Outdoor work in various weather conditions, including heat, cold, and rain.
- Physical demands include standing, bending, climbing, walking, and pushing for extended periods.
- Use personal protective equipment such as gloves, hard hats, Class II high visibility clothing, construction boots (steel or composite toe), and safety glasses.
