Earth Systems is currently seeking a Geotechnical Field / Lab Technician at our Pasadena, CA office.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform routine and advanced field tests related to soils engineering and construction
- Perform both routine and advanced lab tests related to field and soils, and construction materials.
- Assists in technical computations and analyses
- Perform complex tests under close supervision
- Assists in the coordination of field and laboratory work
- Operate and maintain field testing equipment, perform troubleshooting, and maintain calibration of equipment
- Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned
Desired Skills and Qualifications:
- Prior experience working in a geotechnical environment preferred.
- Must be familiar with Microsoft programs.
- Math, analytical, and writing skills are required and must be willing to “learn by doing.”
- Must have reliable transportation and a clean driving record.
Education and Licensure:
- High school or equivalent required
- An associate degree in geoscience or engineering preferred
- Nuclear testing gauge, ACI, ICC, DSA, and AWS certifications preferred.

The expected pay range for this position is $20-35 per hour. Exact rate is dependent on several factors such as experience, skills, education/certifications, and geographic location.
Employment conditioned upon completing a post-offer background check, review of motor vehicle records, drug screening and medical evaluation appropriate to the position.
