Dog Handler / Doggy Daycare Position

EarthDog Denver is seeking a reliable Dog Day Care Attendant to provide excellent care to dogs staying at our facility. Our ideal candidate is someone who loves animals and can provide high-quality pet care for our customers while their dogs board with us or come for day care. We expect you to provide a fun, safe, and clean environment for dogs and put customers at ease, assuring them that their pets will be safe. Prior experience in animal care or kennel care is preferred but not required.

We are in need of employees who are able to work opening, closing, and/or mid-shifts during weekdays and weekends. Must be available to work holidays.

Tips and 50% commission pay for nail trims and nail grindings.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Give dogs water throughout the day
• Perform exit baths for dogs
• Keep play areas clean of dog waste
• Clean and maintain kennels, keeping them free of waste, fur/hair, and other unsanitary or hazardous materials
• Comfortable working outside on hot or cold days
• Supervise play areas to ensure pet safety
• Physical ability to control large breed dogs
• Ability to prevent dog fights, or break up fights without causing harm to yourself or to the dogs
• Provide lifeguard duties while working in our pool area with dogs
• Keep records of feeding and medication schedules for each dog
• Perform light receptionist duties, such as answering phones, responding to emails, and updating vaccination records
• Filling holes in dog park after dogs dig them
• Perform some yard work maintenance such weeding and mowing
• Sweeping Shoveling snow off sidewalks and entry ways will be required in winter

Requirements and Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Familiarity with various dog breeds
• Passion for taking care of animals
• Must be a team player and work well with others to organize and plan excellent dog care and cleaning without direct supervision
• Teamwork and communication skills
• Physical stamina for cleaning and maintaining kennels
• Available to work weekends and holidays
• Must be punctual and good with job attendance
• Experience with Gingr kenneling system preferred
