About the position:
Our Procurement Supervisor works with suppliers to negotiate better pricing, develop new relationships, ensure we maintain our tax-exempt status, and places bulk orders. They also oversee the procurement team, and hire/fire/review/discipline team members.
Job Responsibilities:
Develops and maintains relationships with new and existing suppliers
- Follows process to vet new suppliers, including requesting documentation of certification or processes, site visit
- Negotiates or re-negotiates pricing on bulk raw materials
- Ensures any changes in a suppliers pricing, certifications or processes are noted and communicated to the appropriate departments and that alternate suppliers are found if needed
Places orders for raw materials and other items based on company needs
- Checks inventory and material forecasts and maintains 3-mo raw material supplies
- Writes and submits purchase orders
- Places orders
- Collects requisition forms from other departments and ensures they are fulfilled accurately and regularly
Obtains and maintains tax exempt status
- Submits documentation to suppliers to obtain and maintain our tax-exempt status
Supervises procurement team
- Conducts interviews and hires procurement team members
- Provides training to new team members
- Holds quarterly reviews according to company policies, including goal setting and personal development
- Holds disciplinary conversations and fires as needed
- Maintains accurate SOPs and training plans
