We’re seeking a talented and detail-oriented CAD/Design Specialist to join our team. If you’re passionate about design, prototyping, and contributing to real-world projects, this is the role for you!
Role Overview:
As a CAD/Design Specialist, you will play a critical role in supporting our engineering team by creating and refining CAD models, preparing technical drawings, and ensuring designs are optimized for manufacturing and assembly. You will also be involved in the procurement process, collaborating with suppliers to source parts and components for robotic prototypes.
Role & Responsibilities:
- Create, update, and maintain SolidWorks CAD models and assemblies.
- Generate technical drawings for manufacturing, including GD&T annotations where needed.
- Collaborate with engineers to ensure designs meet functional, manufacturability, and cost requirements.
- Support the procurement process, including identifying suppliers, obtaining quotes, and tracking orders.
- Assist in design reviews and incorporate feedback into CAD models and drawings.
- Maintain detailed documentation of designs and revisions.
- Provide support during the assembly and testing phases to ensure seamless integration of parts.
Qualifications, Education and Preferred Skills:
- Proficiency in SolidWorksis required.
- Strong understanding of mechanical design principles, including tolerancing and material selection.
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes such as 3D printing, machining, and sheet metal fabrication.
- Knowledge of GD&T and best practices for creating production-ready drawings.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Experience with part sourcing and supplier communication.
- Knowledge of PLM or BOM management tools.
- Familiarity with robotics systems or electronics integration.
