EarthWise Pet Supply & Wellness Spa is opened in September 2021 in Leonardtown, MD and we are looking for professional, friendly, groomers and pet bathers to join our team! Ideal candidates will have great compassion for animals and be ready to provide exceptional, neighborly service at every opportunity during the workday. Previous grooming experience required for grooming positions. Eligible hires will have the option to receive further training in this area for future growth potential with staff who has years of experience in the field.
Job Description – Dog Groomer
Full Time and/or Part Time
Responsibilities include the following (dependent upon job position):
· Delighting neighbors and pets with grooming services; brushing, bathing, conditioning, nail trimming
· Grooming and styling pets per owners' instruction and/or according to breed standards
· Always ensuring the wellness and safety of furry patrons (and their pet parents)
· Developing long-term relationships with pet parents by understanding their needs and recommending products and services that will keep their pet healthy and happy
· Will create community connections to attract new neighbors into our store
· Performing routine cleaning to keep the grooming environment sanitized, safe, fun, and inviting.
· Assisting store team members during grooming downtime
· May assist self washing stations during downtime.
Qualifications include the following (dependent upon job position):
· A High school diploma or GED
· 1-2 years or more grooming experience with formal training certification and/or experience under an established certified groomer (manager position, lead groomer roles)
· Ability to move or equipment or pets weighing up to 50 pounds.
· Ability to stand, bend or stoop for extended periods of time
· Provide your own grooming equipment (clippers/blades/scissors/etc.)
· Flexibility in work schedule
· Candidates must pass the drug screening (in applicable states) and be 18 years or older
Physical Demands:
· While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to verbally communicate
· This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling and climbing all day
· The employee must frequently lift and/or move animals and items that weigh more than 50 pounds (ramps and hydrolic tables are available for assistance with larger animals, etc.)
· Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
· The employee must be comfortable around animals, have compassion and patience and know how to act with anxious animals and senior pets
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: From $18.00 per hour
Expected hours: 25 – 40 per week
