Position Summary:
We are currently seeking an experienced Project Estimator in the Construction industry who can accurately analyze and estimate the cost of construction projects. The ideal candidate will have Residential & Commercial Construction Estimating, and Construction Management experience. In this position you will use your expertise to evaluate materials and labor costs and develop comprehensive estimates for both public and private projects. Excellent Pay - Depends on Experience
Responsibilities
· Locate leads for projects and Bid Solicitations for construction contracts.
· Search for Bid Solicitations, Invitation For bid (IFB), Request For Quotes (RFQ) and Request For Proposals (RFP)
· Evaluate materials and labor costs and develop comprehensive estimates for both public and private projects.
· Prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for public and commercial projects.
· Review project plans, Geo technical report, specifications, and blueprints to determine project scope and requirements.
· Conduct site visits to assess project conditions and identify potential challenges or opportunities.
· Utilize software programs such as Excel, Microsoft word and QuickBooks.
· Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain quotes for materials and services.
· Prepare bid packages and submit proposals to clients within specified deadlines.
· Participate in pre-bid meetings and post-bid negotiations as required.
· Schedule follow up and maintain contact through out award.
· Maintain accurate records of estimates, bids, and related documentation.
· Prepare budget and cost estimates, along with work timetable.
· Prepare accurate budgets including thorough quantity takeoffs for specific trade scopes and provide the application of current market unit pricing.
· Work towards good subcontractor and supplier relationships
· Prepare lump sum bids with adequate subcontractor coverage.
· Prepare proposals and project estimates.
· Schedule and coordinate project walk throughs (pre-bid with client, pre-bid with subcontractors)
· Prepare letters of intent/notices to proceed. Purchasing process and award of subcontractors
· Prepare, assemble and review bid proposals. This includes completing detailed estimates by calculating complete takeoff of scope of work and soliciting pricing from qualified vendors and subcontractors.
· Actively participate in bidding and pre-construction services. Attend pre-bid meetings to determine the scope of work and required contents of the estimate.
· Create preliminary project schedules as a tool for estimating total project costs.
· Provide take-off reviews and estimates from construction drawings.
· Review contract documents, plans, specifications and addendum's
· Prepare a checklist for review with Management prior to bid day that includes subcontractor coverage, contract document errors and omissions, inherent risks and rewards that explains cost with complete general conditions.
Education:
· The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in Estimating, Commercial & residential Construction Estimating, and Construction Management. A keen eye for detail with strong analytical skills are also necessary for success in this role. Exposure and knowledge to the project estimate process, procedures and approach.

· Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
· Excellent mathematical skills for accurate cost calculations.
· Strong analytical and problem solving abilities.
· Strong knowledge of construction management, methods, materials, techniques and methodologies.
· Proficiency in using estimating software such as Bluebeam, Excel.
· Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, technical documents, blueprints and construction drawings.
· Strong attention to detail and ability to work with precision.
· Effective communication skills to collaborate with project teams, clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.
· Experience as a Project Estimator in the construction industry.

Pay: $28.00 - $40.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
