Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Healthcare Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in medical office management and be familiar with various medical software systems.
Responsibilities
- Provide administrative support in a healthcare setting
- Manage and facilitate the office's day-to-day operations by ensuring that everything runs smoothly and efficiently.
- Handle patient inquiries and provide exceptional customer service
- Coordinate patient appointments and maintain clinic schedules
- Monitors appointments and patient flow.
- Resolve patient/case manager’s concerns and questions promptly and courteously.
- Utilize knowledge of medical terminology for accurate documentation
- Assist with medical collections and billing procedures
- A high level of attention to detail to maintain accurate electronic medical records and perform other duties of a clerical nature
- Handle patient records and employee issues confidentially, following HIPAA guidelines. - -- Provide direction to staff with established agency guidelines, procedures, and policies.
- Provides initial orientation and ongoing training information for clinic employees according to clinic policy and employee needs.
- Monitors employee timesheets, overtime, and absenteeism for the clinic.
- Assists with performance reviews.
- Assists with the selection of qualified candidates for employment.
- Conduct staff meetings as needed.
- Monitors employee performance related to safety and health procedures, regulations, and HIPAA guidelines to ensure a safe and healthy work environment.
- Be flexible and responsive when unexpected changes occur in staffing, workload, or clinic procedures.
- Monitors clinic workload and coordinates schedules to best meet patients' needs, including staffing for flex time off, leaves of absence, etc., consistent with clinic guidelines.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Experience / Education and Requirements
- Associate's degree in business, health care administration, or related field or equivalent experience.
- Experience in medical office management is preferred
- Proficiency in using medical software
- Familiarity with clinic operations and procedures
- Strong organizational skills.
- Working knowledge of state and federal laws, regulatory requirements, and professional practice standards.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to plan, implement, and manage multiple projects simultaneously and effectively, meet deadlines, and remain flexible under changing priorities.
- Demonstrated ability to work professionally with confidential, proprietary data and information while protecting and maintaining confidentiality.
-Must be self-motivated with a proactive approach to tasks and projects with minimum supervision. Capable of working within the organization's established policies, procedures, and practices.
Good computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office and medical software.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
