About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Interim Plant Controller to support a manufacturing facility in the Tampa metro area. This role will serve as a key financial leader at the plant, overseeing all accounting and reporting functions, supporting operations with critical financial insights, and ensuring compliance with internal controls. This is a hands-on role ideal for a candidate with strong cost accounting experience and prior plant-level finance leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the finance lead for the plant, providing real-time financial insights and analysis to support operational performance.
- Own all plant-level financials, including monthly close, inventory valuation, cost of goods sold (COGS) analysis, and margin reporting.
- Partner closely with plant leadership, operations, and corporate finance teams to ensure accurate reporting and forecast alignment.
- Develop and maintain standard costing models, variance analysis (PPV, labor, overhead), and production efficiency metrics.
- Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in accordance with GAAP and corporate requirements.
- Support and guide budgeting and forecasting processes for the plant.
- Lead or assist with internal and external audit requests related to plant operations.
- Provide support during systems upgrades, operational transformations, or process improvement initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CMA a plus.
- Minimum of 7–10 years of accounting/finance experience, including 3 years in a plant controller or similar role.
- Strong background in manufacturing and cost accounting.
- Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards, NetSuite).
- Advanced Excel skills and ability to analyze and model financial data.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to partner across functions.
- Ability to start immediately and commit to a 3–6 month interim engagement.
Schedule & Work Environment:
- Hybrid work environment: 3 days per week on-site at the Tampa-area plant, 2 days remote.
- Flexibility required based on operational needs and financial close cycles.
