- POSITION SUMMARY
- The Apothecary Pharmacy Intern assists the pharmacist in preparing prescription medications through front end and back end operational support ranging from data entry, filing, processing, and shipping of medications. The Intern may perform any function of a pharmacist while under the direct supervision of a pharmacist including giving vaccinations (with certification), transferring prescriptions to and from other pharmacies, transcribing new prescriptions from verbal orders, counseling patients, and answering patient questions.
- POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum Education
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Enrolled in an accredited school of pharmacy
Minimum Experience- N/A
Required Registration/License/Certification- Alabama Board of Pharmacy Intern/Extern License
- BLS within 30 days hire/transfer
Preferred Education- N/A
Preferred Experience- Previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician.
- Previous experience with ScriptPro Pharmacy Management System or ScriptPro Robotics Systems
Preferred Registration/License/Certification- APhA's Pharmacy-Based Immunization Delivery certificate
- Valid Driver's License
