What are the responsibilities and job description for the Outreach Insurance Assister position at EAST ARKANSAS FAMILY HEALTH CENTER?
Summary:
Outreach Assister is responsible for assisting consumers (individuals), in assigned counties (Crittenden, Poinsett, Mississippi, and Phillips), with understanding insurance options, determining eligibility, and facilitating enrollment in a Qualified Health Plan (QHP) through an online web portal. Outreach Assister is expected to meet set performance metrics instituted by the Arkansas Insurance Department.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Participate in training and certification activities to gain a comprehensive understanding of all facets of the Arkansas Health Insurance Marketplace.
- Assist consumers in grasping the nuances of insurance choices, federal tax subsidies, public plans, plan benefits, co-payments, and other cost-sharing expenses.
- Help consumers select a Qualified Health Plan, ensuring that the consumer independently decides which plan to enroll in
- Conduct public education activities to raise awareness about the Health Insurance Exchange
- Maintain expertise in eligibility, enrollment, and program specifications.
- Conduct public education activities to raise awareness about the Exchange (Health Insurance Marketplace).
- Respond to customer inquiries by confirming the understanding of each inquiry, researching information, and ensuring the customer comprehends the provided answers
- Maintain and provide monthly/quarterly reports regarding services performed and individuals assisted to the Chief Operating Officer (COO)
- Travel to each satellite location and maintain a weekly log of placement. Ensuring timely follow-up and documentation with consumers from satellite locations
- Provide updated information to staff and patients on the Arkansas Health Insurance Marketplace
- Complete all reports required by the Arkansas Foundation for Medical Care (AFMC) in a timely manner
- Address referrals and telephone encounters promptly
- Collaborate with the team to plan at least four outreach and special event activities each year
Eligible candidates must be at least 18 years of age, have a high school diploma or GED, be a legal resident of Arkansas, have a valid AR Driver’s License and a reliable vehicle, have strong data entry and organizational skills, and have the ability to analyze and interpret information accurately.
Interested candidate with an Arkansas Career Readiness Certificate preferred.
