Job Description For: Controller
The Controller is responsible for several duties pertaining to the daily operational functions at the Club and for providing assistance to the senior staff at the Club. Responsibilities include: Accounts Receivables, Accounts Payables, HR Clerical duties and other tasks as assigned by the General Manager or Treasurer of the Board of Directors.
Responsibilities
- Perform all duties pertaining to the daily revenue reconciliation and cash deposit activity
- Leverage technology to streamline/improve existing processes
- Prepares general ledger accounting entries.
- Produce timely and accurate financial reports on a monthly basis, including but not limited to budget performance (monthly and year-to-date); respond to ad hoc reporting requests from General Manager or Treasurer of the Board of Directors
- Maintain accounting/internal controls.
- Complete account reconciliations.
- Posting cash receipts and cash disbursements
- Answer phones and transfer calls to appropriate extension
- Process weekly payroll from entry to closing through contracted payroll company
- Responsible for vendor reconciliations
- Print and distribute financial packets and/or Club reports to General Manager, Board Members and Department Heads
- Miscellaneous responsibilities (Supply orders, system maintenance, etc.)
- Assist Managers with Payroll/Benefit processing and questions
- Assist Members and guests with any questions related to billing or accounts
- Maintain confidence and protect operations by keeping information confidential.
- Provide direction and oversight to other office staff as necessary.
Minimum Job Requirements
- Must have 3 Years Bookkeeping/Accounting knowledge & experience and ability to handle a full set of books
- Ability to pass background & credit check as position deals with confidential information
- Strong communication skills
- Work collaboratively with all staff and club members
- Strong interpersonal skills with ability to build strong relationships with members and effectively resolve issues as they arise
- Fluent in Microsoft Office and Quick Books
Preferred Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business-related field
- Prior experience at golf/recreation club
