What are the responsibilities and job description for the Outreach Worker - Peer Recovery Support position at East Bay Community Action Program?
East Bay Community Action Program is hiring for a Peer Recovery Support Specialist Outreach Worker to provide recovery support services for the homeless in the East Bay of Rhode Island for a population that has either limited access to services or the inability to directly access services.

How you will make an impact:
- Provide recovery coaching for clients in the community who are homeless with hopes of guiding them on the path to recovery and/or stable housing.
- Assist clients to prioritize and obtain appropriate referrals and/or services, such as health/dental/behavioral healthcare, housing, vocational services, social service benefits, and Narcan education, assure the client is in the HIMS system and follow up regularly.
- Provide necessary daily essentials such as hygiene products, socks, hats, gloves, blankets, bus passes, tents etc.
- Transport clients, if needed, to treatment or essential appointments that are cleared with supervisor.
- Facilitate arranged all recovery groups in the community as assigned through supervisor; as well as NARCAN training and distribution.
Your skills and experience:
- 2 years of sustained recovery
- RI Certification as a Peer Recovery Coach or within one (1) year of obtaining certification
- Flex full-time schedule to accommodate the client population. May include some evening and Saturday hours, 1x per month.
- Must have a valid drivers license and acceptable driving record/insurance if engaged in travel on behalf of the organization.
