Peer Specialist - Behavioral Health Services
Full-time position at East Bay Community Action Program (EBCAP) - Barrington, RI
About the Role
Join our growing Behavioral Health Services Division as a Peer Specialist, where you'll make a meaningful impact by supporting clients on their recovery journey. As a vital member of our multidisciplinary team, you'll leverage your personal recovery experience and professional training to inspire and guide others toward positive lifestyle changes.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a role model for clients in our Health Home treatment environment
- Coach clients in identifying their strengths and developing effective coping skills
- Provide mentoring focused on building client self-sufficiency and recovery
- Conduct home visits with Community Treatment Specialists
- Document client interactions using NextGen electronic medical record system
Schedule
- Primary hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM (4 days/week)
- One weekday: 10:00 AM to 6:30 PM
- Required monthly: One Saturday shift
- Occasional holiday coverage
Required Qualifications
- Rhode Island State Certification as a Peer Specialist or Wellness Coach
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation with insurance
- Personal recovery experience and willingness to share insights appropriately
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
