What are the responsibilities and job description for the Head Soccer Coach position at East Bay Eclipse Soccer Club?
The East Bay Eclipse Soccer Club is seeking motivated, inspiring, and dedicated leaders to fill its open Head Coach positions for U9-U18 teams. All interested candidates should apply as soon as possible as positions will be filled on a rolling basis.
About East Bay Eclipse: The East Bay Eclipse Soccer Club is an independent, competitive youth soccer club, whose mission is to enable youth to reach their highest potential as players and as people in a positive and enjoyable environment. Eclipse achieves its mission through an innovative training program and club structure that allow youth to increase their skill, knowledge and enjoyment of the game, and avoid burnout and overuse injuries. A child’s healthy physical and emotional development always comes first.
Responsibilities:
● Plan and run practice sessions three times per week for youth team
● Plan and run all games and tournaments for youth team
● Be lead point of contact for players and parents in regard to team-specific items
● Create and maintain a positive learning environment for players
● Work collaboratively with club directors and other coaches
● Provide player evaluations to players and their families
● Provide team evaluations to club directors
Commitment: The job of head coach runs June through November. Coaches are responsible for attending three practices per week, as well as 10-15 weekend games and 2-5 weekend tournaments per season. Coaches will also attend club meetings and trainings approximately once per month. Additional opportunities for employment as a coach are available throughout the year. Ideally, interested candidates will start coaching at our Winter Program December-February and/or our Spring Program March-May to get a feel for the club prior to starting with a full team in June.
Compensation: Compensation is $1,000-1,500 per month per team coached depending on several factors. An exact compensation will be discussed during the interview process. During the course of the year, there are also a wide variety of other opportunities to earn additional compensation.
Qualifications: Candidates should have experience in positive coaching at the youth club soccer level. New coaches with extensive playing experience will also be considered. Candidates should have competent verbal and written communication skills.
