What are the responsibilities and job description for the Vocal Music Teacher HS/MS position at East Buchanan C-1 School District?
QUALIFICATIONS: Valid Missouri teacher certificate for appropriate level. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
JOB GOAL: To assist students in learning the appropriate subject matter, skills, and/or attitudes that will contribute to their development as responsible citizens.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
The East Buchanan C-1 School District Director of Vocal Music is responsible for all aspects of the vocal music program, which includes classroom instruction at the high school and middle school level, concerts, contest preparation, and all other related functions of the vocal music program. East Buchanan operates on an alternating A/B block schedule with 90 minute class periods. The band director alternates days between the middle school and the high school.
The Ideal Candidate will be able to:
- Recruit and retain students in the vocal music program
- Develop ability in students across a variety of skill levels
- Maintain positive relationships with students, coworkers, parents, and community members
- Operate a program that is organized at all levels
COMPENSATION
Pay will be based on district salary schedule. The successful applicant will be placed on the schedule according to education level and years of experience. There is an additional stipend with this position to compensate for time outside of the school day.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: An individual who holds this position must have the ability to speak and hear in an environment where numerous conversations and activities may be taking place simultaneously. They must be able to move around the classroom and read handwritten or printed materials.
CONDITIONS AND ENVIRONMENT: The individual who holds this position will regularly work in a school environment that is noisy and active. Occasionally the individual will be required to work outdoors for short periods of time to perform such tasks as loading or unloading students from district transportation and supervising recess or other activities.
