Job Supervisory Responsibilities: None


Schedule: Monday - Thursday 7:30 am - 5pm


Overview:

Our beautiful pain clinic in Roanoke Rapids is currently seeking a full-time Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to assist with patients and in-office procedures. This is a dream position! The schedule is Monday through Thursday - every day is a three-day weekend! Here at ECPC, we value our patients and want to get to the root cause of pain. We use a multi-modal approach to pain management which allows us to treat pain at the source. Long gone are the days of sending patients on their way with medication. We are dedicated to helping patients build a better quality of life through innovative and state-of-the-art techniques and procedures. Our LPNs help us fulfill our mission, vision, and values, by supporting our clinicians in fulfilling treatment plans. Whether it's assisting during a procedure, or scheduling another procedure, our medical assistants are there to ensure our clinicians and patients have the support they need when they need it.


Job Summary:

The LPN will utilize both clinical and administrative tasks to help clinicians in the pain clinic. Daily responsibilities include checking-in patients, assisting the physician before/during/after procedures, conducting prior authorizations and documenting medical information into the electronic medical records (EMR) system. The LPN must be attentive to patient needs and communicate any potential issues to staff. The LPN identifies patient needs, provides safe and professional care, and communicates any needs to the provider. The LPN will have to demonstrate professionalism and tact during difficult patient situations. This is a procedure-based pain clinic, so a passion or desire to help patients eliminate pain is essential. The LPN will:

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Prepare/clean up procedure rooms.
  • Assist physicians with a wide variety of procedures, may even be placing IVs if certified to do so and under the supervision of a clinician.
  • Fax notes to other practices.
  • Document patient notes in EMR (eClinicalWorks).
  • Obtain prior authorizations for procedures.
  • Assist with front desk processes when needed.
  • Assist with the C-arm for fluoroscopy procedures.
  • Handle difficult situations with professionalism and tact.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma.
  • Must be a Licensed Practical Nurse in the state of North Carolina
  • Two years’ of experience is preferred.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Proficiency with Electronic Medical Record Systems.

Work Environment/Physical Requirements:

  • Work performed in an office environment.
  • Involves frequent contact with physicians, leadership, and medical office staff.
  • Work may be stressful at times.
  • Interaction with others is frequent and often disruptive.
  • Requires long periods of standing and walking.
  • Physical activity can be irregular and fast-paced, regularly.
  • Must possess sufficient eye-hand coordination/manual dexterity to operate medical and office equipment.
  • Required normal range of hearing and eyesight to record, prepare, and communicate appropriate reports and evaluations.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds with no assistance.
