Position Description:
The Accounting Controller has a key leadership role, reporting directly to the CFO, and is responsible for guiding the accounting team. This position is integral to ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, driving operational efficiency, and maintaining the financial integrity of the company. As the face of the accounting department, you will be instrumental in delivering superior customer service and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development within your team. The work would initially start as full-time in the office with the possibility later for hybrid-remote work with some days spent working remotely away from the office.
Responsibilities:
· Lead the accounting team, ensuring accurate and timely completion of tasks
· Deliver timely financial reports according to the close calendar, including reconciliations for all balance sheet accounts
· Ensure timely, accurate processing of payments, receipts, and payroll, while maintaining compliance with the procedures of each
· Execute key accounting tasks alongside team leadership duties
· Maintain and enhance accounting processes, seek process improvements, and keep documentation of procedures updated for effective communication across departments
· Keep detailed, organized records, reviewing readiness for reviews
· Oversee the accounting system, ensuring its optimal configuration and integration with other platforms
· Fill a key role in forecasting and budgeting
· Administer fixed asset accounting, ensuring accurate recording and maintain the fixed asset system
· Provide clear guidance to the team, maintaining high standards
· Ensure the integrity and effectiveness of internal financial controls
· Handle ad-hoc requests diligently, accurately, and in a timely manner
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field
- Working knowledge of GAAP
- Minimum seven years of accounting experience with progression in responsibilities or CPA with a combination of accounting firm and industry experience
- Experienced with software for accounting and fixed assets
- Advanced proficiency in Excel
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Adaptability to changing technologies and procedures
